Competency through Integrative Learning

Professionalism Translates to Equal Care

In this insight, I will present my experience with early skill development though integrative learning in nursing and outside opportunities that strengthen my hands-on proficiency. I also discuss the "competency ladder" that nurses can progress through and other ways that knowledge can be obtained to climb the "rungs" faster. Integrative learning paired with strong critical thinking skills results in increased competency

This insight helps to introduce an approach that avoids stereotyping and passing judgement on patients based on religion, race, or ethnicity. I am trying to prove that being a professional must include the "justice" practice by the nurse that ensures each patient is viewed of equal importance.
